2009 CABERNET SAUVIGNON
This is a first of a kind release, given it is both a Museum wine and a never before released wine. We felt in spite of the rich, ripe fruit in the wine, the high natural acidity of 2009 would benefit from some additional years in bottle ….and we are delighted we waited.
Wonderful dark plum and mulberry fruit couple with liquorice and baking spices on the nose. This is followed with more luscious black fruits on the palate, together with cedar and alluring cassia bark overtones. The tannins are fine and soft, lending synergy between fruit and French oak together with structure that delineates and defines the palate. Now showing superb integration, the natural acidity lends vibrancy and freshness and will aid longer cellaring if desired. Cork closure. 2 years in French Oak 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc & Merlot. $67 |
