2013 YOUNG VINES RIESLING
After 10 years of making this wine, we continue to see a structural and textural difference between our older vines and the younger block (now 14 years) and as such we continue to make the ‘young vines riesling’, now identifiable to so many of our clients. Bearing all the hallmarks of Crawford River, one must remember that some years ago, 14 year old vines created one of John’s most esteemed wines!
Delicate blossom notes together with lime peel and fresh apple are the upfront characters on the lifted nose, with hints of lime and fresh apple continuing throughout the palate. Distinct mineral/stoney qualities and a chalky textural character evolve on the palate, which is incredibly soft and supple. Bright, balanced acidity follows through to the back palate and leads to a crisp, mouthwatering finish. Screwcap $27 |
